Week 41 - "YESS!!! YOU CAMEE!!!!"

March 25, 2019

Wow what a wild week in the life of Sister Smoot! To start off I got to attend the baptism of Megan in Madison!!! Wow what a spiritual and unforgettable experience.
So this is how it happened, in our mission we had a rule change and we are no longer allowed to go to the baptism of those in previous areas :( I was super sad well the Lord is so good and with my new calling as Sister training leader trainer (sister APs?) we are to go on exchanges with the Sister Training Leaders in the mission. Well that means i got to go on exchnages with Sister Terry in Madison and it was over the weekend of Megan's baptism!!!
She had no clue I was coming and when she saw me running to give her a hug she yelled out, "YESS!!! YOU CAME!!!!" her baptism was very special and the spirit was so strong. Afterwards we asked how she felt and she said "I feel so peaceful" i love the peace this gospel brings, especially when we are doing the things good asks us too! GOD IS SOOO GOOD TO US!! man, he loves us💛
Being back in Madison felt so good, I got to see the Rodriguez family again and CJ(he's 7 years old) was so cute! He saw me come up to the door and started jumping around and ran up and tackled me to give me a hug. They are forver family to me, as well as many other people I have come to know on my mission.

So many miracles happened her in Marlbourough this week as well!
-SO BIG!!! Update on the woman that called brother Hutchins. So her dad passed away about 10 years ago, he was a member and in 1987 he started writing a journal for her with all of his Spirtiual things and left it with someone with the instruction of "when the spirit prompts you to do so, deliver this to my daughter Lauren". Turns out she received this book about 2 weeks and that's why she reached out to the missionaires. We met her and her 15 year old daughter this week and it was incredible!
-We are teaching Ashley and her boyfriend is a member, they are stellar!! They came to church with their 4 kids yesterday and had a grand time. They are super into health & fitness which means we teach them the gospel and in return we are learning a lot of healthy tips... week #1 of eating healthy was a success! Even with all the cookies and desserts we were offered (; #missionarylife🤘
-so this is a funny one, yesterday we were out knocking some doors and we had just knocked on the door of a guy named Sean and he wasn't interested. Well about 45 minutes later we were back at our car and we saw him chipping away at his ice on his lawn and offered to help and we started talking a little more, became buddies, talked about trucks, he asked if he could take a picture with us, and then offered us to come back and give us a cup of coffee (; funny part is..
sister young didn't remember Sean from the first time we met him knocking on his door and that's why she went and talked to him while he was chipping away at his ice😂 spirit brings things to your remeberance and I guess sometimes helps you forget things as well (;
- We didn't get the chance to see David for a lesson this week but he came over for dinner at a members and in the middle of our message Sister Hutchins went and grabbed a paper that has a picture of Jesus and it says "we are family" and wrote her number on the back and said we are all family in this church and are here to help eachother through the struggles we face. Then Sister Clayton and Sister Cook wrote down their numbers as well and gave it to David. I love seeing the support given to those we teach! BLESSINGS<3
-random fact: went on a field trip on the APs van to Mission leadership Council this week and that was a blast. Always learn so much at pur mission meetings! We have received further information that we don't have to set a baptismal date on our second lesson and can do it as the spirit prompts, so that's pretty aweosme! So muxh change.. Who is ready for more at General Conference?!? I know I am!!🙋‍️ 2 week left!
- last funny fact: the other night it was about 8 pm and we showed up at a Haitians house and she had dinner set up for us..FULL ON FRIED FISH. EYEBALLS AND ALL!!!!! It was watching me👀🙄 it was so scary, I didn't know what to do.. needless to say we took it to go.

Well that's all folks🤠 hope you all had a lovely week in this journey we are all on together! Let us all press forward with a steadfastness in Christ 💛

Keep on keepin on. 143
