Week 35 - Finding jackpot

February 11, 2019

Wow we are being blessed here in Madison, that is all i can say. This week was so incredible but man did it go by so fast. Time has got to slow down because i love being on the Lords errand wayyyy too much. so you ready to hear about some crazy cool highlights and miracles from the week?

HIGHLIGHTS:
-Megan!!! Oh my goodness she is such an amazing women. we met with her this week and had no intentions of inviting her to be baptized. In fact it was funny because at dinner we were talking and we were saying how we were going to take things slow with her. Well in the lesson the spirit kept prompting me to invite her to be baptized and i said no!! and the spirit said YES!! i said no!! But as you know, the spirit is always right and always wins. So we invited her to be baptized and immediately she said yes. On top of that she text us the other night and said, "I just though id let you know, i enrolled in institute" we don't even know how she knew about that. but she is so so prepared!!
-Jean-Piere family, we stopped to see a less active the other night but his wife who is not a member was home and set up an appt. for us to come back and visit with him. Well we showed up and it turned out that everyone was home and they all joined us!! we got to teach them about the life of Christ and his eternal sacrifice for us. All 4 of them were willing to accept a Book of Mormon and have us back. I know that the spirit they felt as we testified of Christ touched their hearts to help them gain a desire to want to learn more about the restored gospel.
-Rodriguez Family, We have been going over a couple times a week to see the Rodriguez family and man what an incredible family. Becky (mother) is a member and her son CJ goes to church with her and will be baptized in July but her husband and girls are not members. We have been teaching Carlos who is her husband and he is so prepared. We asked him about where he stood with the church because he has been attending sacrament recently and he opened up to us and said, "I'm hooked, I'm just being reeled in, and there is no way i will be unhooked." so for Carlos our goal is to get that reel going and have him prepared to baptize his son in July!
-So we have to have dinner between 5 and 6 unless there is a teaching opportunity. Well we had a dinner set up but the family could only feed us at 6:30 and we asked if they had anyone in mind they could invite over so we could come at that time. Well it turns out that they did!! His name is Chris and he is amazing. He is a recovering addict and wants to find God, we were able to help him realize that through prayer he can build that relationship he seeks to gain. It was not a coincidence that we were there with him that night.

EXCHANGE MIRACLES:
-Now that you are tired of reading you get to read one more incredible miracle. So on exchanges clear back in the beginning of January I was in Groton with Sister Woolley and it was about 8:00 pm and we prayed about where to go and we picked an area and went. Well we ended up meeting Dave and he was interested in meeting with missionaries and learning more and had friends that were members that he had just been texting. well this past week we were onexchanges in Groton and sister Dahle and i got to give him a church tour and I got to invite him to be baptized! it was such a miracle for me, knowing that the Lord places us in the path of specific people for SPECIFIC reasons.

SPIRITUAL:
So the other night we had dinner with the bishops family and played a little game about how we can only chose one master God or Satan. Well it turns out that their son, Grant, gave a specific talk on that exact topic in church yesterday and it testified to me how the spirit knows exactly the needs of all man kind. the scripture is Joshua 24:15, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
I know that if we choose to follow god more abundantly throughout our life we will be blessed with happiness, helaing, and joy. Satan will not have control and he will not win.

Well there you have it, the most amazing and incredible week in a nutshell. keep on keepin on.
xoxo. Sista Smoot
