Tuesday: you know that song that says
"it's been one of those days" yep that was today! 6 people bailed on
us!!!!
-Seth: We tracted into him Sunday night and
he told us to come back Tuesday afternoon, we confirmed Monday night and he
said he was looking forward to it. We show up with a member and he bailed!!
-maria: she was "busy" and needed
yo reschedule
-Ivette: was in Norwich
-dianna: didn't answer the door but she lives
next to Ivette and then we saw Jehovah witnesses walking up to ivettes
door.
-kristie: wasn't feeling good
-omi: was supposed to come to dinner but got
busy at work.
THAT WAS OUR DAY!!!!👍👍 we did have a good
dinner at Brother Allreds, yummy fajitas and brownies. Then had stake reporting
tonight! So that was good :) onto exchanges tomorrow!
Wednesday: wow what a day! It was so much
fun!! We made it a goal to talk with everyone we saw, so thay consisted of lost
of contacting out the car window, breaking up awkward kisses, and even getting
serenaded (; Man it was a party! We had lunch at the masons and it was so good
then we got to work and stopped by some people, tracted, street contacted,
found some people and then last we went on main street and there was a guy and
he had a radio and he sang a song to us and then in return we taught him the
whole restoration and he invited us back!!! It was so cool!!! As we were
standing there another guy walked past and I yelled over to him and said
"hey we are talking about Jesus you wanna join?" And he came!! He
listened for about 20 min and then after the first vision he left.. :( wouldn't
give us any contact info either.. but it was still cool and a fun way to do
missionary work! But ya it was a fun exchange and we laughed and had fun and
just a good time and jammed out to some music! I love going with all the other
Sisters, especially when they are doing good and workin hard :)
Thursday: today was sister usserys birthday
so we partiedddddddd hard (; made her some pancakes this morning and sang some
songs then we boogied to my doctors appointment and since we were in the area
of a nice place to eat i treated her to some lunch and ice cream (: we went to
olive garden and it was delcious!! We got so much food for only $20 bucks
too!! Then we went to Ben and jerry's, I'm gettin so fat. We went and helped
sister prisbrey cleaned and then we were supposed to see robin and she didn't
answer!!! We were so upset.. so many appointments have fell through this week.
So we stopped by some people, even a do not contact on the member list but he
was do chill and told us we could stop back!! He drove a cummins so maybe we'll
consider it (; then tonight we started teaching Rosemarie she is from France
and is a super nice lady! Then we had a lesson with John:) he got sister ussery
a birthday cake and we gave him his shirt and tie and taught him more about the
temple, he is excited! It was a good day!
Friday: district council was good today! We
role played the plan of salvation and I got stuck teaching the hardest part!!
The fall. Buy it went Okay :) our appointments with myriam, and Michelle both
fell through. What does that make 9 cancellations this week? But we had
coordination then went to dinner with a less active and he is hilarious, he is
a good bud! Had a lesson with the Baers and brother Baer was being a punk so I
gave him a bee sting haha that's the king of relationship we have (; but one
day he will get baptized, I know it!! We then had a lesson with Diane and
taught her more about the temple and she is excited to go tomorrow :) so
excited that we get to go, it's gonna be the best!
Saturday: what an incredible day!! I gotta
tell ya, there is something special about seeing your recent converts dressed
in white in the temple. Not just one but two of them. Going to the temple today
with John was so neat!!! He looked great in his white shirt and he really felt
the spirit! He definitely is one solid guy that has so much to offer this ward.
It was really cool, when we were in the temple he looked at us and said
"I'm really holding back" and we were confused and then said
"I'm seriously proud of you two" and started to get really emotional.
WHICH IS NOT JOHN. Man it made me emotional because I am proud of him and how
far he has came, the gospel truly does change people and brings happiness into
their lives (even if they don't show it on their face). Diane loved the temple
as well and is getting more used to it and is so peaceful there. Afterwards we
went to an Asian place to eat and it was so funny there was a sauce and I
asked John if it was spicy and he said "ya spicy just like you" but
then when we got back we went and helped at a funeral, then we went to dinner
with Jeanette and I got the cowboy burger and I'll tell ya what that was a dang
good burger. I almost ate the whole thing!! But she reslly opened up to us and
told us a lot of things she is going through and struggling with and it blows
my mind how people just trust these 19 year olds and tell us so much and listen
to us and take our advice! Anyway it was a good longgg dinner that she really
needed. We then just came home and studied! But wow what and incredible day, I
love missions. They are the best! Today made this rough week worth it! Guess
there is a storm comin in tonight so we will see what happens (;
Sunday: well the storm hit, but nothing like
a Utah storm! It snowed and then freezing rain. So church for cancelled because
the roads were pure ice and the mission even purple dotted us which means we
aren't allowed to leave our apartments. So today started off with some
"shoveling" hahah then we did some longer studies, all day we just
tried setting up apointments, contacting people, and then we walked down to see
Katie and read the BOM with her. Sister ussery got caught up in her journal a
little bit, she is over 2 weeks behind lol!! So that was nice :) but man it is
a cold day!! New England storm survivor (;
Can't wait to chat with you guys! Hope you
had a great week!

Just tryin to survive here in New England! We
had an ice storm hit this weekend so church was cancelled, we got purple dotted
which means missionaries can't leave their apartments, and today we are pushin
-6°. It's wicked cold! But all is Well, smilin on the inside as John
would put it (;
Speaking of John, on Saturday we got to go to
the temple with him and boy was it a special day. He really felt peace there
and could truly God's love. It was really cool, when we were in the temple
he looked at us and said "I'm really holding back" and we were
confused and then said "I'm seriously proud of you two" and started
to get really emotional. WHICH IS NOT JOHN. Man it made me emotional because I
am proud of him and how far he has came, the gospel truly does change people
and brings happiness into their lives (even if they don't show it on their
face).
If there was a song to record this week it
would be by brad paisley "one of those lives" but really just one of
those weeks. We had ALOT of appointments fall through which always leads to
frustration, discouragement, and self doubt. We haven't been able to get a Hold
of a lot of people we are teaching which makes for lots of tracting, but we
stay positive and continue to work and the Lord always blesses us!
Just a quick miracle we saw on exchanges we
were walking down a street and night was approaching, my goal was to teach the
restoration to someone this particular night. Well we met Phil, first he
serenaded us with some music lol but then in return we got to teach him the
whole restoration, he accepted a Book of Mormon and set up another time to see
him :) it was also cool as we were standing there talking another guy walked
past and I yelled over to him and said "hey we are talking about Jesus,
wanna join?!" And he did!!
Spiritual thought: I've been pondering a lot
about my patriarchal blessing lately and I came across this quote from
Preisdent Thomas S. Monson, "Your blessing is not to be folded neatly and
tucked away. It is not to be framed or published. Rather, it is to be read. It
is to be loved. It is to be followed. Your patriarchal blessing will see you
through the darkest night. It will guide you through life’s dangers. … Your
patriarchal blessing is to you a personal Liahona to chart your course and
guide your way."
I encourage each of you this week, if you
have your blessing, take it out, read it, ponder it, and become the person God
needs you to be in this world we live in.
This week was very special, being able to see
John and Diane both in the temple this week and is something ill never forget.
When we got to Dianes this week, she typed out her testimony for us and it was
beautiful. I love helping others recognize the truth. YOU can do the
same. I love you all and hope you are tryin to stay warm like we are!
Keep on keepin on.
